Advanced fluoropolymer technology developer Junkosha is familiarizing potential customers with its latest Hybrid Channel Tubing solution for endoscopic guide instruments this week at CompaMed (Nov. 17-20) in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Designed to meet the increasing demand for minimally invasive procedures, this new tubing solution combines high durability with superior flexibility by blending the unique properties of PTFE with the enhanced flexibility of expanded PTFE. The launch introduces a range of ultra flexible tubing built on the same high-quality and high-performance principles as Junkosha’s Peelable Heat Shrink Tubing and Etched PTFE Liner product lines, solidifying the company’s prowess in developing high-performance fluoropolymer solutions, executives claim.

Junkosha Hybrid Channel Tubing features a PTFE inner layer for airtightness and lubricity, and an expanded PTFE outer layer that enhances flexibility and resistance to kinking, even at tight bending radii. This two-layer design maintains the inner lumen diameter and burst resistance, which reduces the risk of external pressure-induced collapse. This attribute delivers the durability and flexibility necessary for smooth, precise manipulation during procedures.

Junkosha is introducing CompaMed attendees to this new technology, which builds on the success of its clear Peelable Heat Shrink Tubing and thin wall Etched PTFE Liner ranges launched earlier this year. Junkosha’s Peelable Heat Shrink Tubing achieves clarity, eliminates the need for skiving (saving time and labor) and the need to use blades (enhancing health and safety). It integrates seamlessly with manual processes where consistent peeling performance is key.

Additionally, Junkosha’s thin wall Etched PTFE Liner retains its hallmark combination of high lubricity, consistency in elongation and strong tensile profile, serving as a reliable backbone for advanced catheter systems, according to the company.

“At Junkosha our mission is to continually advance the boundaries of extrusion technology for PTFE processing to meet the evolving needs of medical device manufacturers,” Junkosha USA Inc. Chief Operating Officer Mike Winterling said. “The launch of our Hybrid Channel Tubing underscores our commitment to offering a broader range of solutions while maintaining our technological expertise related to product performance, quality, and reliability. We look forward to introducing this new product at this year’s CompaMed as well as inviting attendees to our booth to discuss their unmet needs”.

Junkosha’s new Hybrid Channel Tubing is on display in Hall 8B, booth G20-4.
