SMC Ltd., a medical device contract manufacturer with locations in Somerset and Amery Wisconsin along with California, Massachusetts, Ohio, and India, has been chosen to receive the 2009 business of the year award. Recognized for cutting edge technology, dedication, and commitment to the economic development of the St. Croix area SMC Ltd. was chosen by the St. Croix Economic Development Corporation (SCEDC) to receive this award. The SCEDC, a private non-profit organization, operates exclusively for the economic development of St. Croix County by working to foster the expansion of existing companies and the successful start-up of newly formed ones. Chetan N. Patel, SMC Ltd.’s founder and president had this to say about the award: “We are honored to be recognized as a top business in the region for 2009.
