TEAM Technologies, an end-to-end outsourced medical device manufacturer, has acquired TAG3 Engineering, a full-service medtech design, development, and manufacturing company.

TAG3 is based in Sunrise, Fla. and contributes U.S.-based front end innovation capabilities to TEAM Tech’s specialty manufacturing solutions for the medical device industry. The company specifically provides front end design, engineering, regulatory, verification and validation (V&V) testing, and manufacturing.

“We pride ourselves on our ability to help our customers, from physicians and entrepreneurs to large OEM medical device companies, conceptualize an idea and guide them through the entire process of bringing it to life,” said Victor Gomez, one of TAG3’s founders. “We are thrilled to be part of TEAM, an organization that shares our values, commitment to innovation and excellence in medical technology.”

The company serves therapeutic areas in cardiovascular, neurovascular, structural heart, peripheral vascular, stroke, glaucoma, gastrointestinal, and urological.

“TAG3’s medical device development and front-end innovation capabilities dovetail well with TEAM’s existing core capabilities of taking an idea from concept and scaling it to commercialization,” said TEAM Tech president and CEO Marshall White. “With these added capabilities, we are even better positioned to provide exceptional value to healthcare OEMs, and we are thrilled to welcome TAG3 to TEAM Technologies.,” he added.

TAG3 supports device development through an ISO 13485-certified and FDA 21 Part 820-compliant quality system. The TAG3 GMP-compliant facility features Class 7 and Class 8 Clean Rooms, testing and simulation labs, 3D printing, and electrospinning equipment.

“The acquisition of TAG3 further enhances TEAM Tech’s fast-growing minimally invasive surgical franchise,” said Matt Altman, a managing partner at Arlington Capital Partners, owner of TEAM Tech. “We are excited to partner with the exceptional TAG3 team to further support our healthcare customers from innovative design all the way through commercial production.”

In July, TEAM Tech acquired Duke Empirical, adding a fully integrated, turnkey solution that combines Duke’s specialized front-end design and catheter expertise with TEAM’s comprehensive capability set and global manufacturing footprint.
