SMC to Expand its Massachusetts Facility

The larger plant will include three new ISO 8 cleanrooms, a cold chain storage warehouse, and a material handling system.

SMC Ltd. is growing its U.S. footprint.

The medical device contract manufacturer is planning to expand its Devens, Mass., facility by 160,000 square feet, adding three new ISO 8 cleanrooms, a 2-degree to 8-degree Celsius cold chain storage warehouse, and a material handling system to optimize product flow throughout the plant. SMC executives said the additions will allow for better efficiencies and reliability to support the evolving medical technology and drug delivery markets.
