Smart Meter has launched iAmbientHealth, a sensor that reportedly aims to transform patient monitoring. Unlike traditional wearables or camera-based systems, iAmbientHealth uses advanced radar technology to passively track vital signs such as heart rate, respiration, movement, and bed exits without requiring any patient interaction.

Designed to overcome the biggest remote care barriers—adherence, privacy, and ease of use—iAmbientHealth delivers continuous, real-time health insights while remaining unintrusive for the patient. This frictionless experience empowers providers to detect early signs of infection, mental health shifts, and helps predict critical health events days in advance.

“iAmbientHealth is a game-changer,” Smart Meter CEO Casey Pittock CEO said. “We’ve eliminated the need for wearables and cameras, giving providers a powerful tool that works silently in the background. It’s the future of remote care—private, predictive, and effortless.”

iAmbientHealth’s artificial intelligence (AI) software delivers powerful data and insights that help predict a decline in overall health status and emergent healthcare events up to seven days in advance. In a study of 200-plus patients, the proprietary algorithm predicted more than 75% of hospital transfers and reduced hospitalizations by 50%.

iAmbientHealth integrates seamlessly with Smart Meter’s Smart Solutions Platform as well as EHR platform PointClickCare, allowing remote patient monitoring companies, long-term healthcare facilities, and other healthcare organizations to view ambient sensor data with other cellular-enabled vitals. The device is available as part of a flexible data service, with tiered packages that let customers tailor programs to their clinical and business needs.

iAmbientHealth also qualifies for reimbursement under Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) and Chronic Care Management (CCM) CPT codes. Already deployed in skilled nursing facilities, iAmbientHealth is now available for home use—bringing hospital-grade monitoring into everyday living spaces.

Early adopters have reported significant improvements in patient engagement and outcomes, particularly among populations who resist wearable devices or struggle with cognitive impairments or physical limitations.

Smart Meter supplies cellular-enabled remote patient monitoring solutions, delivering reliable, real-time patient data to healthcare providers, payers, and technology partners. With millions of vitals transmitted through its exclusive private data network for RPM, Smart Meter empowers organizations to securely improve patient outcomes, reduce hospitalizations, and optimize reimbursement.
