Medical Manufacturing Technologies (MMT), a provider of medical device manufacturing solutions, has acquired Innova Design.

The transaction grows MMT’s suite of bonding technologies. Innova Design is a pioneer in the bonding industry, credited with developing the first commercial catheter laser bonder in 2002.

The company now boasts is sixth generation of American-made laser bonders. Innova has produced millions of balloon catheters used in interventional medical procedures around the world. Innova Design is a partner for medical device manufacturers in key markets including the U.S., Ireland, Cost Rica, Brazil, Singapore, China, and Japan.

Innova’s laser bonding tech complement’s MMTs hot box and split die bonding solutions. The Innova laser bonder features ergonomics and laser safety features including a motorized revolving safety door, enhanced air cooling, linear ball screw laser traverse, integrated diode pointer, beam shutter, and multiple sample holding system configurations.

In June, MMT acquired Comco, a provider of micro-precision sandblasting.
