Matrix Plastic Products LLC is expanding its operations to a larger facility to support continued growth, increase manufacturing capacity, and broaden service offerings to current and potential customers.

The move is driven by increasing customer demand and the need for additional space to support scalable production, cleanroom manufacturing, and NPI projects, according to the company. The new facility, located in Bloomingdale, Ill., is expected to start up initial operations in the second quarter this year and be fully operational by year’s end.

“This expansion is a strategic investment in our customers and our future, allowing us to continue an accelerated growth trajectory while keeping our team of employees intact,” Matrix Plastic Products CEO Andy Ziegenhorn said. “Essentially tripling our available floor space better positions us to ramp programs, invest in new equipment and technology, and continue delivering the quality and reliability that medical device OEM’s need from their preferred supply partners.”

The expanded facility will feature:

• 88,000 square feet of new manufacturing space
• 3,300 square feet of expandable ISO 8 cleanroom capacity with increased controls
• Dedicated engineering lab to support early-stage NPI projects
• New equipment and process capabilities in tooling, molding, and quality
• Layout improvements designed for lean medical manufacturing

Matrix provides plastic injection molding and moldmaking services, and manufactures precision products for the medical device, electronics, personal care, and other high-performance industries.
