WESTPAK’s newest mechanical testing laboratory in the San Francisco Bay area has achieved ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation from the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA), affirming the company’s ability to deliver high-quality, reliable, and technically competent testing services.

The Union City, Calif., facility is the third of WESTPAK’s Golden State labs to be accredited to the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard. Its other facilities are located in San Diego and San Jose, and the trio’s continuity with the standard ensures consistent quality and compliance across all three sites. It also provides customers with seamless support regardless of location, according to WESTPAK.

“Achieving ISO/IEC 17025:2017 certification at our Union City lab is a significant milestone,” WESTPAK President/CEO Nora Crivello said. “It reinforces our promise to provide scientifically rigorous, compliant, and timely testing services—now with added flexibility and capacity to better serve our clients.”

The accredited scope at the Union City lab includes environmental conditioning, transport simulation performance testing, package stability testing, and medical device package integrity testing.

This latest accreditation strengthens WESTPAK’s position as a partner to industries requiring packaging validation, including medical device, pharmaceutical, consumer goods, and industrial sectors, according to the company.

WESTPAK is an independent test laboratory specializing in packaging, product, and material testing. The company has more than three decades of experience.
