Henry Schein has begun a deal to acquire Acentus, a medical supplier that specializes in delivery of continuous glucose monitors (CGMs). Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

This transaction follows Henry Schein’s purchase of Prism Medical Products in 2021 and Shield Healthcare and Mini Pharmacy in 2023. The company said the deals reinforce its commitment to the homecare medical supplies market, which is now expected to post annual revenue of about $350 million.

Acentus boasts annual revenue of about $35 million and is headquartered in Tampa, Fla. Henry Schein said it expects the transaction to be neutral to 2024 non-GAAP earnings per share (EPS) and accretive after that. The deal is anticipated to close in Q1 2025.

After closing, Acentus founders Brett Carroll, Todd Cianfrocca, Greg Duvall, and Julio Valdivia will join Henry Schein.

“We are delighted to partner with Henry Schein and further our efforts to provide accessible disposable medical supplies to the thousands of individuals nationwide who rely on these products to manage their chronic conditions,” said Cianfrocca, who is CEO of Acentus. “We are excited to contribute to the growth of Henry Schein’s emerging home health care business.”

Henry Schein offers business, clinical, technology, and supply chain solutions for office-based dental and medical practitioners. The solutions also support dental labs, government and institutional healthcare clinics, and other alternate care sites.

In May, the company appointed three new members to its executive management committee: Steve Boggan and Bianka Wilson, co-CEOs of the firm’s Global Oral Reconstruction Group (GORG); and Tom Popeck, CEO of the Healthcare Specialties Group (HSG).
