3DEO, a Los Angeles-based leader in design, engineering, and metal additive manufacturing (AM) solutions, has appointed Scott Dennis as the new chief executive officer (CEO). This leadership transition marks an exciting new chapter for 3DEO as the company continues its trajectory of rapid growth and innovation in the additive manufacturing industry.

Dennis succeeds Matt Petros, the company’s co-founder and former CEO. Petros will remain a significant shareholder in the company.

“3DEO has always been about pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in manufacturing. Under Scott’s leadership, I believe the company is well-positioned to accelerate its innovation trajectory and continue setting new industry standards,” Petros commented. “Scott’s experience in engineering and product realization, coupled with his proven ability to scale operations, makes him the perfect choice to lead 3DEO into the future.”

Dennis previously co-founded and served as CEO of D&K Engineering, a leading product realization services company that successfully developed and manufactured a wide variety of products across the printing, industrial, and life science sectors. At D&K Engineering, Dennis led the company’s growth into a global organization, known for its disciplined approach to engineering and manufacturing, particularly in high-innovation content and hardware-based products.

With a strong background in mechanical and biomedical engineering, as well as a successful track record in product realization, Dennis has demonstrated his ability to reduce the risks associated with bringing breakthrough products to the market.

“I am thrilled to join 3DEO and lead this exceptional team,” said Dennis. “We are committed to offering our customers innovative design and manufacturing solutions, centered around harnessing the power of additive manufacturing. Our goal is to unlock significant performance improvements not only in individual components but also in full assemblies and subsystems by leveraging additive-enabled technologies such as 3DEO’s Intelligent Layering process. This approach, driven by 3DEO’s deep expertise in Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM), allows us to revolutionize product development and create breakthrough value for our customers.”

3DEO will also be showcasing its metal additive manufacturing solutions at the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) in Chicago from September 9-14, 2024. Scott Dennis will be in attendance on September 9 and 10, offering an excellent opportunity for media and industry professionals to learn more about 3DEO’s innovative technologies.
