Currier Plastics Gains Private Equity Investment, Names New CEO

Currier was founded in 1982 and is based in Auburn, N.Y. The company has developed a reputation for its technical capabilities and service to blue-chip customers.

Sheridan Capital Partners revealed completion of its investment in Currier Plastics, a manufacturer of custom, precision plastic components for healthcare and life sciences.

This investment reflects Sheridan’s evolution as a healthcare investor with expertise in outsourced services and medical products to software and technology for providers, payors, and pharma. The company also announced that concurrent with the investment’s closing that Andrew McLean was named Currier’s new CEO.

Currier was founded in 1982 and is based in Auburn, N.Y. The company has developed a reputation for its technical capabilities and service to blue-chip customers in healthcare and other regulated end-markets.

Using custom blow and injection molding, the company manufactures tight tolerance custom components in ISO Class 7 and Class 8 cleanrooms. Currier also provides value-added services like design engineering, material selection, and assembly.

Founder and CEO John Currier expressed his pride of what the company’s dedicated employees have created, and that Currier found a great partner in Sheridan to continue its dedication to excellence.

A new CEO for Currier

New CEO Andrew McLean boasts over 25 years of leadership experience in the medical device and pharma industries. His prior leadership positions include president and CEO of medical device and pharma product design and contract manufacturer SteriPack Group, as well as CEO of Sirtex, a manufacturer of minimally invasive interventional oncology solutions.

Earlier in his career, McLean had a variety of senior sales, marketing, and business development roles at BD and Pfizer.

“Currier’s excellent reputation for quality, technical capabilities and customer service have been established over decades,” said McLean. “I look forward to continuing and growing this legacy.”
