Chamfr, a digital platform to source medical device components and service providers, has appointed Steve Maxson as its new VP of Growth.

Maxson will lead initiatives across the platform’s demand and supply side. He will focus on deepening engagement among engineers, procurement teams, and component suppliers.

He’s widely recognized in the medical device industry as the host of the “MedTech Unboxed” podcast and creator of the “Medical Processing Panel (MPP)” event series, which draws hundreds of professionals a session across four annual events. Maxson touts over 25 years of experience in extrusion technologies, medical manufacturing, and early-stage product development strategy.

“Steve brings a unique combination of technical depth, content vision, and market reach,” said Julie Schulte,  co-founder and CEO of Chamfr. “He understands how engineers think, what they need to make fast and confident sourcing decisions, and how suppliers can best showcase the capabilities behind their technologies and services. His voice and leadership will accelerate our mission and bring new value to both sides of our platform.”

Maxson was an early investor in Chamfr, as well as a longtime supporter of the company’s mission to simplify sourcing for R&D teams. In his new position, he will head growth of strategic buyer partnerships and supplier strategies. He will also help drive content and event strategies.

As part of the expansion, both “MedTech Unboxed” and “MPP” will be delivered through Chamfr.

“Chamfr has changed the game for component discovery in medtech,” said Maxson. “This is a company that’s making sourcing more efficient, accessible, and transparent—especially for engineers working on early-stage innovation. I’m excited to help grow this platform, deliver richer product content, and create new opportunities for suppliers to connect with the right audiences at the right time.”

Last month, the company began a strategic partnership with David Schnur Associates (DSA), a provider of outsourced technical sales and marketing services for the medical devices and life sciences industries.
