Three companies have been chosen as finalists for the Swiss Medtech Award 2025 and will compete for the chance to win CHF 50,000. The winner will be announced in late June during Swiss Medtech Day in Bern, Switzerland.

evismo, QUMEA, and Bonebridge were selected by a jury led by Prof. Mirko Meboldt of ETH Zurich. “The three finalists demonstrate how innovation and entrepreneurship are propelling the Swiss medtech sector into the future. Their developments contribute in a sustainable manner to the improvement of patient care,” Swiss Medtech Director Adrian Hunn said.

Zurich-based healthtech firm evismo is revolutionizing the diagnosis of heart, stress, and sleep disorders. The company has combined state-of-the-art sensor technology with artificial intelligence (AI)-based software to facilitate early detection of cardiac arrhythmias and more precise diagnoses in the general practitioner’s practice. To-date, more than 1,500 specialists rely on the company’s diagnostic services: CardioFlex to diagnose cardiac arrhythmias, RespiFlex to detect sleep apnea, and StressCheck to analyze stress, burnout, and sleep disorders.

Solothurn-based QUMEA considers itself a leader in digital mobility monitoring. The contactless monitoring system developed by QUMEA identifies dangerous situations, alerts caregivers, and helps prevent falls and bedsores in nursing care facilities. Patterns of movement in patients’ rooms are recorded around the clock by a fully anonymous 3D radar sensor. Artificial intelligence analyses this data in real time, identifies risks early on, and alerts the nursing staff when necessary. More than 120 institutions in Switzerland and abroad are successfully using this technology and benefitting from its contribution to patient safety and nursing staff support.

Zug-headquartered Bonebridge has been developing implants to treat bone fractures since 2018. The company aims to work closely with clinics and develop solutions that improve patient care. The focus is on high product quality as well as the ease of clinical application. Bonebridge collaborates with globally recognized partners to address a wide range of existing clinical challenges related to musculoskeletal trauma.

Swiss Medtech first launched the Swiss Medtech Award in 2018. The CHF 50,000 prize—sponsored by the Sonova group and Straumann group—recognizes outstanding achievements within the Swiss medical technology industry. The expert jury evaluates candidates based on patient benefit, improvements in healthcare, and technological pioneering spirit. The winning team is announced and honoured annually at Swiss Medtech Day, the most important event for the Swiss medical technology industry.
