Hyperfine announced that it has begun a strategic collaboration with NVIDIA. The partnership will leverage NVIDIA’s artificial intelligence (AI) expertise and accelerated computing to enhance Hyperfine portable image technology with the aim of making brain MRI faster, smarter, and more affordable.

Hyperfine’s AI-powered, portable MR technology is designed for use at the point of care in professional healthcare settings by any trained clinician. It is meant to address critical healthcare gaps that conventional MRI systems can’t fill.

The collaboration with NVIDIA will target advancement of AI-powered image reconstruction and embedding real-time clinical decision support into the portable MRI workflow. Leveraging NVIDIA’s DALI and MONAI training and inference tools seeks to improve the Swoop system’s image quality, reduce scan times, and allow faster, more reliable, diagnoses.

“Our mission is to make portable brain imaging faster, more intelligent, and increasingly accessible—ultimately improving health outcomes and reducing costs globally,” said Maria Sainz, President and CEO of Hyperfine. “Partnering with NVIDIA presents an incredible opportunity to advance and accelerate our AI technology. I’m thrilled about the possibilities this collaboration brings for the future.”

Last month, Hyperfine announced it negotiated several agreements with distributors that will allow the company to provide its Swoop brain imaging system to Turkey, Israel, and Saudi Arabia.
