Company claims key milestone in the race to develop the “Tricorder” for health monitoring.
October 6, 2016
By: Ram Group Holdings Pte Ltd.
Ram Group, a German-Israeli- Singaporean based technology firm has announced a first in biosensing: a full cardio-pulmonary monitoring (EKG, cuffless blood pressure, atrial/ventricular pressures, respiratory rate, vital signs) from a single point of contact on the body. Simultaneously the novel sensor can provide real-time monitoring of air quality index, pollution and other gases from a single sensor. The development, according to the company, marks a key milestone in the race to develop the “Tricorder” for health monitoring. “Our technology is going to change the face of wearables, diagnostics and remote monitoring products and services in the coming years. Our disruptive sensing chip is easily integrated into smartphones, watches, and other wearables, and can replace 100-150 thousand dollars worth of hospital-based, invasive equipment for a fraction of the cost,” Founder and CEO Ayal Ram said. Ram Group’s biosensor can also enable non-invasive, real-time monitoring of blood glucose and electrolytes as well as more sensitive, low-cost diagnostics for early detection of cancer and other non-communicable diseases, supporting precision medicine and value-based care. Two years ago, the World Health Organization reported that in 2012 around 7 million people died—one in eight of total global deaths—as a result of air pollution exposure. Heart disease, diabetes, and a host of other chronic diseases can be monitored and diagnosed with Ram Group’s biosensing platform. Air quality monitoring, smart cities, oil and gas, supply chains and finance can benefit from the sensing capabilities and biometric authentication technology developed by Ram Group. The company is currently raising funds to bring the technologies to the market by mid-2017 through a number of joint ventures and licensing initiatives. Founded in 2010, Ram Group develops sensors and analytics technology across the internet of things and healthcare industry. Headquartered in Singapore, the firm has research and development facilities in Germany and Israel. Our research has been protected by a range of patents and published in more than 60 medical and scientific journals worldwide.
