Circle, Texcel Medical Merge

CIRTEC Medical Systems to operate in Massachusetts, Minnesota and California.

Circle Medical Devices and Texcel Medical have merged to form medical product design and manufacturing firm CIRTEC Medical Systems.

Circle was a contract manufacturer and engineering provider based in Los Gatos, Calif., and Texcel Medical, based in Springfield, Mass., was a manufacturer of Class II medical devices, Class III implantable electronics, implantable pulse generators and laser technology.

Barry Smith, CEO of CIRTEC Medical Systems, said the two firms have helped to create and accelerate the commercialization of more than 300 medical device technologies. Clients range from startup medical technology innovators to international medical device manufacturers, according to Smith.

CIRTEC Medical Systems operates from Texcel’s facility in Springfield, Mass., as well as Circle Medical’s locations inMinneapolis, Minn, and Los Gatos, Calif.

Jerry Hansen is CIRTEC Medical Systems executive chairman and founder; Larry Derose is chairman and founder; andMichael Forman is president and chief technology officer.

“The merger introduces CIRTEC Medical Systems to medical devicemanufacturers as a preeminent, globally experienced, single-sourced solution from concept through high-volume finished goods manufacturing,” said Smith.
