New USP Class VI Approved Medical Adhesive

Master Bond has introduced an innovative room temperature, fast curing medical adhesive called EP41SMED, thus expanding Master Bond’s line of medical grade adhesives for the disposable and reusable medical device industry.

This low viscosity medical epoxy has a handling time of as little as 10-15 minutes and forms resistant bonds to cold sterilants such as EtO and gamma radiation as well as water, oil, and many organic solvents. EP41SMED fully complies with the testing requirements for USP Class VI biocompatibility. The adhesive also conforms to Title 21, US Code of Federal Regulations, FDA Chapter 1, Section 175.105 & 175.300 for food applications.

As a medical adhesive, EP41SMED contains no solvents or diluents.  It has exceptionally low shrinkage upon cure.  Making quick setting and rigid bonds it offers excellent adhesion to a wide variety of similar and dissimilar substrates.  These include metal bonding, glass, ceramics, rubbers, wood and most plastics.  Additionally, EP41SMED has superior electrical insulation properties.
